Change and Transitions

How do you feel about change?

Change is a normal part of life, but that doesn’t stop it from feeling scary and overwhelming. There is comfort in the familiar and what we already know and do. It is why we develop habits and routines.

But at some point, a change or transition will happen that is inevitable. For example, changing year group or moving from Primary School to Secondary School. Choosing your Options in Year 9, ready for your GCSE’s. Friends or family might move away. Maybe you move away to a new area and a new school. There might be changes to your family, such as a new sibling, or your parents splitting up. Maybe your favourite club gets cancelled, or the coach changes. Whatever the change, it can feel unsettling and contribute to feelings of worry, anxiety, or low mood.

So, what can you do to survive and thrive when there is change or transition in your life?

Hopefully, some of these ideas are helpful for you to manage the next change in your life.

Remember, you can always look for additional support if it is feeling too much. Get in touch by telephone, email or through the website, to find out more about the support we can offer.
