Autumn: Change and Letting Go

Within some cultures autumn is associated with the process of letting go and setting healthy boundaries. As the season changes, and the nights get darker you may start to notice the leaves changing colours and falling with grace. With the warm glow of the moon lighting our sky sooner and sooner this autumn may be a great time to reflect on ourselves and our interactions within the world we live in.

For many of us it may mean isolation, darker nights and lower mood.

What can we do to help ourselves

Self-care and mindfulness are great tools when we’re having a tough day. Try and remember to eat a balanced diet, and get that sleep in. You could also have a go at some mindful drawing colouring time using or creating some colouring pages, doodle pages, word puzzles, calming puzzles, and mazes (free Printouts at Crayola). We have included a little mindfulness exercise you can try.

And if you can try and go out for a walk as often as possible but expect to get a little wet and/or muddy!

We would love to hear some of the creative autumn-themed ideas you all have for activities and tools to try as a group or in your time. Please feel free to send some in!

Most important of all give yourself permission to take some time out from the busy world.

We have added some pictures of some of our team being together outdoors and having fun.

Being outside and having fun releases lots of endorphins, imagine these are natural chemicals we release to feel better, and guess what.. we do it amazingly by having fun. 😊
