May is National Walking Month 👣

Here at Barnardo’s Healthy Minds Wiltshire, we understand the mental health and wellbeing benefits of walking. Walking is a form of exercise that has many benefits for both our physical and mental health, including;
😴 improved sleep
😅 stress relief
❤️ improved cardiovascular (heart) health
😀 improved mood
🦴 strengthened bones and muscles
⚡ increased energy levels

Being lucky enough to live in Wiltshire, we have tons of beautiful locations to explore for both long and short walks, adult, child and pet friendly! Please take a look at the links below and see if you can find a new walk to try near you 🌳

Remembering the NHS 5 Ways to Wellbeing, walking gives us an opportunity to practice; 🌱 taking notice of our surroundings in nature, 👋 staying connected to others whether that’s through conversation in person, on the phone or simply listening to the radio or a podcast, and of course, 🤸 staying active!

Head over to our Instagram page @barnardoshealthymindswiltshire where, throughout May, we are going to be sharing some photos of the scenery where our team members take their walks. We would love to see where you go for your walks throughout May! 🌞🌸🌈
