Positive Activities in 2021!

I am sure that many of you can agree that 2021 has been a bit of a strange year, and as we all continuously move with the ever changing tides of this pandemic it can be hard to find the ‘positives’.  Sometimes it takes a bit of imaginative thinking to find things to occupy our time (both children and adults!).  Our amazing team of Early Mental Health Practitioners have worked their socks off to bring Children and Young People in Wiltshire Positive Activities both online and face to face.

Barnardo’s Positive Activities this year have been based on the 5 ways to well being:

  • Stay Connected
  • Keep Learning
  • Take Notice
  • Be Active
  • Give

These themes have given our team a structure for planning the positive activities for you guys, and we know that some of you have attended and had a fantastic time.

Here is some of the feedback we have received:
⭐️ “Thank you so much for Saturday. X had a wonderful time. He was so nervous at first but felt very comfortable when he saw you all and realised it wasn’t going to be too busy. He couldn’t stop talking about what he had done!”
⭐️ “X was really proud of doing all the recipes himself … it was a really great boost to X’s self esteem to make and share these recipes with his younger brother.”
⭐️ “It is so lovely to see X thoroughly enjoying these sessions … so nice to see her buzzing!”

So, as well as celebrating a fantastic year of Positive Activities, we are looking forward to what we have planned in the New Year, which includes:
💖 a Valentines baking session
🧘‍♂️ a yoga workshop
🧶 a crochet workshop
🎨 a scrapbook session
🕯 a candle making workshop

So as well as CELEBRATING a fantastic year of Positive Activities we are hoping to hear from you guys about what you want to see in the year 2022!
